Privacy Policy
Effective 10 August 2026 · Mystic Coders, LLC
GeoKids is a geography game for children. We built it so that the honest version of this policy is also the shortest one: the app collects nothing, sends nothing, and asks for nothing.
The GeoKids app contains no networking code whatsoever. It cannot transmit data because it never connects to anything. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. Every map, flag, fun fact, and narration clip ships inside the app itself.
What the app stores
GeoKids saves a small amount of information on the device so a child can pick up where they left off. This never leaves the device, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and is not backed by any account:
- A profile display name. Whatever a child types when creating a profile, up to 20 characters. Many families use a first name, a nickname, or just an emoji. GeoKids never asks whether this is a real name, and nothing depends on it.
- A chosen avatar motif and interface mode (Junior or Explorer).
- Game progress — which states and countries have been solved, sticker and passport collections, streaks, and the play calendar.
- Settings — narration on or off, sound effects, high-contrast map, region patterns, and easier-to-read letters.
This is stored in the app's own private storage on the device. Deleting the app removes all of it. A parent can also delete an individual profile from inside the app, behind a parental gate.
What the app does not collect
- No name, address, email address, or phone number is requested or transmitted.
- No birthdate or age is requested.
- No location data of any kind, precise or coarse.
- No photos, camera, microphone, or contacts access. The app does not request these permissions.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA), device identifier, or persistent identifier is collected or shared.
- No usage analytics, crash reporting SDKs, or behavioral profiling.
- No chat, messaging, social features, or user-generated content shared between users.
- No in-app purchases, and nothing to buy at any point.
Children's privacy
GeoKids is designed for children and participates in the App Store Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone — because the app collects no personal information at all and has no capability to transmit it.
Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for a parent to review, correct, or request the deletion of, and no parental consent to data collection is required. We believe this satisfies the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including Article 8, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and comparable children's privacy laws, by not engaging in the practices they govern.
The app contains no links out to the web, no purchasing opportunities, and no advertising. The one parent-only action in the app — deleting a profile — sits behind a press-and-hold parental gate with an arithmetic challenge.
This website
The app and this website are separate. Where the app collects nothing, geokids.wecodefire.com does collect one thing, and only if you volunteer it:
- The launch-notification form. If you enter an email address to hear about the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV release, we store that address, the platforms you ticked, the time of submission, your browser's user-agent string, and the referring page. We use it to send you release news about GeoKids and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers. Email us at the address below and we will delete it.
This form is intended for parents and other adults, not children. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard web request logs on our behalf as part of serving and protecting the site. The Mac version of GeoKids checks a static update feed on this domain to see whether a newer release exists; that request carries no identifying information and is not logged by us for any purpose.
Third parties
We do not send personally identifiable information or device information to third parties, from the app or from the website. There are no third-party analytics providers and no third-party advertising in the app.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change what the app or site does, we will update this page and change the effective date above before the change ships. If a future version of GeoKids were to collect anything at all, we would say so here plainly and prominently rather than burying it.
